It's one of my favorite days of the year: Super Bowl Sunday!
I am so tired of the national talking heads moaning & complaining about the matchup. Blah blah blah! It's the NFL, millions will watch, I'll eat too much & Pittsburgh will win. What's wrong with this picture?
My prediction: Pittsburgh 27, Seattle 17

As I expected, the Oakland Raiders will talk to Steelers offensive coordinator Ken Whisenhunt sometime this week.

"Games like this with Memphis, with their ranking and the publicity that comes with playing them, it's easy to get up for this game and come with high intensity," said Morris Almond, after his Rice squad lost to Memphis yesterday, 84-79. "The key is to have that every game, against the Tulanes, SMUs — teams that don't get as much publicity as Memphis. And that will come with maturity."
The Tigers return to action next Saturday at 3 p.m. against Marshall.

I'm not sure yesterday's announcement of the latest class of Pro Football Hall of Fame inductees will not do much to please the conspiracy crowd in Dallas, but it's a start. Troy Aikman & Rayfield Wright both deserve the honor. Skipping this time on Michael Irvin was also the right thing to do.
If making sure Wright got in this time can be described as righting a wrong, so can the inclusion of John Madden. Some felt he didn't coach long enough for inclusion. In his 10 years, Madden was 103-32, won a Super Bowl ring, a winning percentage against all the HOF coaches he coached against. What else did they want?

RIP former Mississippi football coach & athletic director Johnny Vaught. He died Friday at the age of 96.
